This lettuce has done spectacularly well on the heavy clay soil in our North facing garden. Germination was fast and seedlings grew well, producing quite big lettuces with frilly leaves tinged with red. The leaves are crunchy in the middle and frilly, tinged with red at the edges - a great tasting combination! They are great in a salad and in sandwiches.
