A traditional, reliable variety. 10 crown pack of green asparagus for sowing over winter whilst it's dormant. 1.5 year old M/F crowns, very productive producing fat green spears, excellent with eggs, pasta sauces, ravioli filling (with cheese, breadcrumbs, egg). Plant outside from Spring onward.
Sow Nov-Apr by digging a trench 25cm deep x 80-85cm wide, and place a crown in horizontally every 20cm with some manure dug into the soil. Allow 1m per row. Earth up to blanch as they grow and harvest only 2-3 asparagus per plant in first year. a 20-30 cm mound and a full harvest can be had in the second year. When the season has finished (end spring-summer), allow plant to develop. In autumn, cut back to soil level and add mature manure. Always cut asparagus below soil level, keep clear of weeds and hoe carefully so as not to damage the plants.
Rich in vitamins A-B1-B2 & C, Potassium, iron.
Harvest Mar-Jun. Cut back November.

Received the asparagus crowns,and planted straight away in prepared bed as per instructions. As of yet only 5 have produced spears awaiting for more hopefully! Well packaged and excellent delivery times!
