Redorta San Marzano tomatoes
I always find that they need a long growing season. Sometimes the plants look weak but don’t despair they produce lots of lovely large tomatoes which are perfect for making tomato sauce perfect for pasta sauces and curry bases. One thing they have poor resistance to blight. My outdoor ones have succumbed two years on the run but greenhouse ones remained untouched. Overall my no one favourite tomato

Redorta Tomatoes
We grow a lot of plum tomatoes for paste and roasting but these have out-performed our other varieties this year. We have been picking fruits weighing between 500 and 700 grams for 10 weeks and still they keep coming. They do need extra support especially when there is a large truss, we feed them with comfrey tea which we make and plant them into pots of our home produced compost. Definitely a tomato for the home cook.
