This sweet Italian cooking wine is made according to an ancient recipe. Selected ingredients are skilfully brought together and blended with oak aged Marsala Fino DOC wine and egg yolks. Marsala is made on the Italian island of Sicily, around the coastal town of Marsala. It is made from the local grape varieties Catarratto, Grillo and Inzolia, fermented to dryness like sherry, then fortified. With a smooth and delicate taste it is excellent for flavouring sweet pastries or as an accompaniement to ice creams and almond based cakes, this example a Cremovo is 14.5% alcohol by volume, with a rich sweet style.
