Product Description
Italian Pine Nuts Pinoli 50g Packet
AS FEATURED ON FOOD UNWRAPPED 02/03/15 AND 23/11/15 with Jimmy Doherty (we buy from the producer shown in Rome)
*Buy 2 or more for £6 each*. It is almost impossible to find Italian pine nuts in the UK and they are up to 3 times larger, long, nutty and with no black bits. Most of all, they are super high quality and full of flavour with overtones of orange. In Italy we would use them to make Pesto Genovese, in cakes and deserts, in pasta toasted first they are unbelievable, with fish ..... it depends on the region you are in but Italy being 74% Alpine, pine nuts are used all over the country.
Almost all pine nuts in the UK are from China, they are not high quality products are small, oily, have unsightly black/brown ends and have been linked to a condition called 'Pine Mouth' which can give you a bitter taste in your mouth for up to 9 months and there is no treatment and there is an excellent article at http://pinenutsyndrome.wordpress.com
50g Pack.

good taste
I am trying to avoid buying either Russian or Chinese pine nuts, and Franchi’s are a great find. Sweet and buttery, no hint of bitterness.

Pine nuts
Love them, no pine mouth as you say. Only complaint is that they come in such small amounts so there’s way too much plastic.

Great pine nuts
These are excellent, and extremely hard to find in the UK otherwise. The difference from e.g. supermarket pine nuts when making pesto is very clear.

Italian Pine Nuts
Always worth the price, these are full of flavour, juicy but crunchy at the same time. Our diet involves more good nuts than steak therefore the cost is not an issue. In Tony's Spinach Torta they remind us of our stays in the Valdidentro!
