Myrte Corsica (Mirtillo)70cl
Produced exclusively from wild myrtle berries, hand-picked in the Corsican maquis. No colouring or added flavours, not cold filtered. Myrtle is a plant of the Myrtaceae family widespread in Mediterranean regions.
Native throughout the Corsican maquis, these wild berries have been appreciated for millennia and Mirto is also made in Sardegna. Their powerful taste is similar to that of juniper, but with an island typicality giving them a place of choice in local gastronomy.
To extract only the aromas specific to the berries, they are delicately separated by hand from the leaves and branches that carry them before being macerated for several weeks. The use of Holstein stills transforms the simple ingredients into something totally unique and regional.
