Product Description
S18 - 'Small Gherkin of Paris' used widely across Italy. Suitable for pickling 'sott'aceto'.
As seen 1.7.2020 on BBC Gardeners World, Monty Don growing gherkins and he correctly said they are essentially small cucumbers. Spot on! You DON'T have to pickle them (though they pickle really well in brine with some dill and peppercorns) and most people don't even think about growing them but you sow them NOW
We eat them raw at home and at the end of the season if there are any left, we pickle a few jars of those. The kids sit on the grass and eat one after the other - dirt and all - what doesn't kill you makes you stronger after all!

cornichon-gherkin-of-paris Tried for the first time this year and grew climbing outdoors. Good germination, prolific producer of knobbly cucumbers which can be eaten without peeling, or processed into pickled gerkins. They are delicious! Highly recommended.
